Acts of Self-Care

 

Simple acts of self-care can bring a spark of joy and a sense of warmth to our days and to ourselves. Listed below are some of these simple acts you can incorporate into a moment.

 

  1. Brew a cup of tea — sip it slowly.

  2. Have hot water first thing in the morning.

  3. Read a fiction book to let loose and get away from reality.

  4. Allocate a special time for skincare. A mask sounds great!

  5. Ease into steaming bubble bath with relaxing music.

  6. Open the curtains — let the sun in.

  7. Stretch. Do some yoga.

  8. Don’t think about obligations — don’t feel guilty for taking things slow.

  9. Wear your favorite scent.

  10. Comb your hair.

  11. Do your hair.

  12. Make a special meal and a special drink. Enjoy them whilst watching a movie.

  13. Take time to listen to yourself — reflect on the past week; write your journeys down on paper.

  14. Dance around the room to your favorite song — no one’s watching.

  15. Take time off the noise of social media.

  16. FaceTime a loved one.

  17. Meditate. Sit or lie in silence — in your own presence.

  18. Take 10 deep breaths.

  19. Take a walk — solo.

  20. Recall a childhood story.

  21. Flip through old photographs.

  22. Wake up at noon.

  23. Listen to a beloved playlist all the whilst watching the sky change — blue to orange to soft pink hues; day to night.

  24. Don’t look at the clock — for a moment, let go from the pressure of time.

  25. Drink a glass of water.

  26. Write in your journal.

  27. Take yourself out to dinner alone.
